PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Join the IEC for a special symposium addressing pruritus in patients with AD. Pruritus is the dominant symptom in atopic dermatitis and the highest therapy priority for patients. The complex pathophysiology of pruritus has been intensely studied in recent years. Modern therapies specifically interfere with the pathophysiology of pruritus in AD patients to rapidly control itch and associated symptoms.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Examine the role of interleukins and nerve fibers in atopic pruritus.
2. Analyze how the brain and the psyche modify atopic pruritus.
3. Discuss the topical and systemic management of atopic pruritus.
